Air Exchanger On AC

An air exchanger on an air conditioner is a combination air exchange and condition unit. Air exchanger on AC units typically are composed of several parts called chambers. An air exchanger on AC device will have usually consist of four different chambers. There is an exhaust air chamber, a fresh air chamber, a supply air chamber and a return air chamber. Each of these chambers has a special function in making your building air more breathable.

The chambers work in conjunction with blowers, or fans. To draw air inside the building from the supply chamber a supply blower is used. An exhaust blower does the same thing for the exhaust chamber, but sends the air outside the building. The fresh air chamber keeps the external air at a steady temperature while the return chamber exchanges the supply air. There is also a component called a damper plate involved in air exchanger and air conditioner combination units. The damper plate moves back and forth between two set points, which are the extreme open and extreme closed positions. The damper plate is what allows the air to flow, or be exchanged and allows the amount of cooling and filtration of the air.

An air exchanger on AC unit will also have a heat pump. The heat pump allows the unit to engage in reversibly transferring heat between the air drawn in by the supply chamber, and the air blown out through the exhaust chamber via the exhaust blower. By adjusting the damper, usually through a slide control, you control the amount of air that is cooled and exchanged at one point of contact. This allows control of the interior air temperature and exchange for removal of indoor pollutants that can build up due to tight building practices which are geared to energy conservation and can cause toxic buildup in the hope. At the same time you are controlling filtration of the external air so that you are not bringing in external pollutants, and you are also cooling the air for comfort.

You will often find air exchanger on AC units in small housing units, and compact building offices. This is because they are an efficient means of keeping indoor air at a comfortable temperature, as well as easy for anyone to operate. These types of units are very beneficial in controlling room air and temperature and are designed to be used in small areas where you do not need a large amount of air exchange on a regular basis.
